PITTSFIELD – Loretta Ellen Emerson, 88, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025 surrounded by her loving family in Pittsfield.

She was born in Pittsfield on December 14, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Ruth Emerson who ran a dairy farm. In 1991 there was a fire that destroyed the home and barn. Loretta and her mom Ruth moved in with her sister in Pittsfield. She worked part time at Locke’s Blueberry Farm, babysat for the Locke family, nephew, great nephew and great niece.

She enjoyed playing cribbage, doing crosswords, going to the farms to watch her nephews compete in oxen and horse pulling.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Muriel Warburton and nephew Craig St. Laurent.

Loretta is survived by her sister, Pam St. Laurent, nieces, Gail, Jean, Sheri and Leanne, nephew, Daniel St. Laurent and his wife Linda, great nephew, Daniel St. Laurent, Jr. and great niece, Diane St. Laurent.

In accordance with her wishes, there are no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. She will be interred with her parents at Floral Park Cemetery.
