PEMBROKE- Mrs. Lois S. (Schneiderheinze) Theuner, 90, of Pembroke, passed away suddenly but peacefully surrounded by the love of family on June 8, 2023.
Born in Manchester, Lois was the daughter of the late Eldred and Margaretta (Ploss) Schneiderheinze. She was raised and educated in Manchester and was a graduate of Manchester West High School. She had resided in Pembroke for the past 59 years.
Long active and devoted to civic affairs, Lois served the Town of Allenstown as a Police Officer for 20 years, retiring on March 14, 1992. She was a founding member of the Tri-Town Ambulance Service and Past President of the Pembroke Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Manchester and a 70 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Lois enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling, especially to Germany and her other homes at Bryn Mawr Ocean Resort, St. Augustine, FL. She also enjoyed knitting and was well known for knitting slipper socks for the Suncook CAP.
She was predeceased by her brother, Roy Schneiderheinze and two sisters, Etta French and Rita Pratte.
Lois is survived by her beloved husband of 70 years, Retired Asst. Pembroke Fire Chief John Theuner; her two daughters, Lynne Theuner and her partner David Norman of Hooksett and Joyce Swan of Meredith; her sister, Ruth Thompson of Manchester as well as her numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours will be held on Monday, June 12th from 4 to 7 P.M. in The Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main St. in Pembroke. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 13th at 10 A.M. in the Funeral Home. Burial will take place privately with the family.
