Obituary

Loudon – Leonard William Dickinson, 93, a longtime Loudon resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord. Born in Torrington, CT on May 24, 1932, he was the son of the late Leonard Elmer Dickinson and Eunice Edwina (Minery) Bunker. He was the loving husband of 57 years to Betty A. (Dow) Dickinson, who preceded him in death in 2015. Leonard was a jack of all trades, working as a logger, trapper, woodworker and courier driver. He retired from the State of NH Department of Transportation. Leonard was a proud US Air Force Veteran, having served during the Korean War. He loved to play cards, specifically, cribbage and rummy; and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Leonard was a fan of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, tuning in most days. He especially enjoyed time spent with his beloved family and his friends at the Richard Brown House where he resided. In addition to his parents and wife, Leonard was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Ronald Moore. He is survived by his two daughters, Louann Lowe and her husband, Robert of Epsom and Tracy Gourley and her husband, Dale of Pittsfield; sister, Louise Moore of Loudon; and many nieces and nephews. A Private Graveside Service will be held at a later date at the Loudon Center Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with his wife. A Celebration of Leonard's Life will be scheduled for a later date as well. The Roan Family Funeral Home – Still Oaks Chapel in Epsom is assisting the family with arrangements.
