NEW BOSTON- Mr. Lawrence D. "Larry" Lopez, 74, of New Boston, passed away peacefully at home on March 9, 2025 after a long illness.
Born in Queens, NY, Larry was the son of the late Ernest and Beatrice (Franzone) Lopez. He was raised and educated in New York and received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Cooper Union in Lower Manhattan. He continued his post-graduate studies at the University of Illinois, where he would meet his wife, Linda.
Larry worked as a computer programmer, developer and troubleshooter for many large companies throughout the years and finished his career at Dell.
He had a particular interest in astronomy and astrophotography. He traveled to observe several total solar eclipses over the years. He was a longtime member of the New Hampshire Astronomical Society. Larry also enjoyed dancing, especially international folk dancing. He also practiced Aikido for over 40 years. Most of his life, he was an amateur radio operator, with the handle of N2CVS.
Larry is survived by his wife with whom he shared 50 years, Linda (Smith) Lopez and his two brothers: Ernest Lopez of Pembroke and Peter Lopez of Astoria, NY.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 23rd from 1 to 4 P.M. in The Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main St. in Pembroke.
