Concord, NH -- Kenneth Alvin Tewksbury (Ken) passed away May 20th in Concord, NH. He was 81. Ken was born November 1, 1940 in Concord, NH to Francis and Hazel Tewksbury.
Ken worked as an auto mechanic for the majority of his life and was a car racing enthusiast. For many years he raced stock cars at Bryar Motorsport Park in Loudon, NH. One of his favorite things to do was watch the Daytona 500 each year.
In 1989 Ken started the Institute of Billiard Sciences in Concord, NH and became a Master level billiards instructor certified by the ACS & World Billiard Instructors Association. Ken wrote over fifty articles about pocket billiards, many of them appearing in newspapers and magazines in and around New Hampshire.
Students traveled from Canada, Russia, Germany, France, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Alaska, Hawaii and most of the many of the lower 48 states to learn from Ken's expertise. Ken was elected into the New England Pool and Billiards Hall of Fame in Bedford, Mass in 2019.
Ken is survived by his wife Pat Tewksbury, sister Jean Tewksbury, brothers Steve Tewksbury and Doug Tewksbury. His children Bob Tewksbury, Keith Tewksbury, Roxanne Makris, and Shawn Tewksbury (six grandchildren and two great grandchildren)
