Kenneth W. McGarr, Sr.; 62, of Pembroke, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2026, following a period of declining health.

He was born in Winchester, MA on May 4, 1964; son of George and Virginia (Iacono) McGarr from Winter Haven, FL. Ken was educated in the local schools and went on to start and run his own company, K&G Floor Sanding, with his father, until his retirement.

Ken worked hard both in his business and at home, he was a proud single father raising his three kids. He loved listening to 60’s 70’s and 80’s rock music, some favorites being Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. He also enjoyed attending many rock concerts. He had a tight knit group of friends through AA and he was always there when someone needed him. Ken was a very caring person who had a big heart. His life revolved around family, he shared a special bond with his daughter, she was the light of his life and he was the same for her, she held his hand until the very end. His favorite family gatherings were family dinners. Making meatballs and pasta was another special bonding moment he shared with his daughter. Ken loved being a grandfather and his best years were spent with his grandchildren. Special memories include bringing them to swim and out for lunch, where he was known to get his triple cheeseburger with onions only. He enjoyed attending his grandson’s sports games and would not miss a chance to cheer him on every chance he could. In his younger days he enjoyed body building and was always showing off his muscles to anyone who would listen.

Besides his parents, Ken is survived by his children, Kasandra McGarr and her significant other Chad Fennessey, Kyle McGarr, Kenny McGarr, Jr., sister, Kelly McGarr and her husband Steve Marcotte, grandchildren, Calvin Fennessey, Iris, Maya, Jayden and Weston McGarr, niece Ashley Gladu and her wife Danyelle.
