Obituary

BARNSTEAD - Kenneth G. Carr, 91, of Barnstead, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Concord Hospital following a sudden illness. Born on April 6, 1931 in Center Barnstead, he was the son of the late George S. and Ella May (Powell) Carr. Ken had many adventures throughout his life and saw many sites. He was employed for many years as the Assistant Fire Chief for the Air Force at the Tracking Station in New Boston until his retirement. He was a 66-year member and Past Commander of the American Legion, Earl B. Clark Post 42. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. A longtime member of the Center Barnstead and Barnstead Parade Fire Departments as well as longtime member of the Masonic Lodge in Pittsfield. Since 1988 he has been a trustee and treasurer of Riverview Cemetery alongside his wife Ann and later his daughter Nancy. He enjoyed gardening, watching his Boston Red Sox, deer hunting and traveling to Wyoming and Utah where he enjoyed hiking. Besides his parents, Ken was predeceased by his brother, Donald Carr and Sister, Joan Wells and grandson, Cody Carr. He is survived by his wife and love of his life, Dorothy Ann (Cotton) Carr of Barnstead, with whom he shared over 65 years, children John Carr of Barnstead and Nancy Carr of Barnstead, grandchildren, Sierra Rollins, great grandchildren, Kathleen Bocash, Alexcia Rollins and Alexis Carr. A graveside service will be held in the Spring at Riverview Cemetery, Barnstead. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Barnstead Firefighters Association, P. O. Box 117, Barnstead, NH 03218.
