CONCORD – Kathleen (Kathy) Helen Haber Volpini, 70, of Concord passed away peacefully on Monday, September 23, 2024 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Concord NH, following a period of declining health. She was born on April 22, 1954 in Lynn MA; daughter of the late Julian Haber and Josephine White-Haber. Kathleen was educated and raised in Billerica, MA and went on to work at Alpha Industries for many years and later worked in pharmaceuticals at the Tewksbury State Hospital until her early retirement. After retiring, she moved to sunny Florida with her second husband, Steve Mathras. In 2020, her children helped move her back up north to Concord, NH to be closer to family. Friends and family also knew her as Kathy. Over the years, Kathy enjoyed coloring, crocheting, knitting, reading while sipping coffee and watching her favorite John Wayne movies on TV as well as other classic TV programs and cartoons. She loved spending time with her children and especially being with her grandchildren. Kathy had a love for all things cats. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. When she was younger, she loved listening to Christmas songs on the radio as she drove to see all the beautiful, shining lights with her children. Her favorite Christmas movies were 'It's a Wonderful Life' and 'A Charlie Brown Christmas'. "And the angel said unto them, 'Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:10-11. Besides her parents, Kathleen was predeceased by her husband, Steve and her siblings Marie, Joseph, Harold and Junior. She is survived by her former husband, Frank Volpini and their children, Jason Volpini and his wife Julie Sichelstiel of Dover NH, Natalie Vasseur and her husband Jason of Fayston, VT and Angela Therrien of Dover NH; her loving sisters Regina, Rose and Lillian and her beautiful grandchildren Eli, Aidan, Kaleb, Jonathan and Julianna as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
