Karen Louise Whitted, born July 2, 1957, passed away following extended illness on May 21, 2025, leaving behind a legacy defined by authenticity, laughter, and love. She lived life unapologetically on her own terms, never one to follow a script unless it was her own. Her fierce independence and unmistakable spirit were admired by all who knew her.
Karen had a remarkable sense of humor—sharp, dry, and often so subtle that you didn't realize she was joking until she broke into her signature big smile. That smile, warm and mischievous, was the kind that could light up a room and instantly change the mood.
Family was everything to Karen. She found her greatest joy in the company of her beloved grandchildren: Tyrell Whitted, Eysha Joseph, Tavon Whitted, and Amelia Payton, all of Manchester NH. Karen would have welcomed with open arms her great grandson on the way, Bryson Williams. Whether she was cheering them on, teasing them in good fun, or sharing quiet memories while playing board games, her love was always felt deeply and unconditionally.
Karen was an avid reader, often found with a book in hand. She also had a competitive streak and loved nothing more than a spirited game of Spades, cribbage, or any board game that brought her closer to her loved ones. In her quiet time, Karen also enjoyed completing complex jigsaw puzzles.
She was immensely proud of her daughters, Shaunte Whitted and Natasha Whitted, of Manchester NH, a pride she never hesitated to share with anyone who would listen. Her devotion to them was evident in every conversation, every story, and every decision she made.
Karen is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Whitted; her sister, Deborah Lawrence; her parents, Patricia and Clifford Benson; and her biological father, Bernard Lawrence. She leaves behind siblings, sister Diane Ealy & husband, Elvin Ray Ealy, brother Clifford Benson and sister Katherine Benson.
Though she is no longer with us in body, Karen's vibrant spirit, wisdom, and laughter remain a part of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
