MOULTONBOROUGH - Joyce A. Letendre, 83, of Moultonborough, formerly of Allenstown, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2022 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital after suffering a massive stroke.
She was born on November 23, 1938, one of nine children to the late Normand and Alma (Mercier) McQueen.
Joyce was educated in the local schools and went on to work for many years in the shoe industry and later for Suncook Woven Label until her retirement. Joyce enjoyed attending Balloon Rallies, going out for breakfast and traveling with her sister, Ruthie and her brother-in-law, Arnold. Crocheting, going to yard sales, Yahtzee and watching her favorite shows, Little House on the Prairie and Gilmore Girls.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Chester Letendre in 2007, three brothers, Dickie McQueen, Norman McQueen and Jim McQueen.
She is survived by her five children, Debra Hills and her husband Walter of Moultonborough, Katherine Evans and her husband Aaron of Bradford, Karen Dewitt and her husband Conrad of Conway, Chester, Letendre and his wife Rhonda of Pembroke, David Letendre and his wife Jennifer of Chichester, siblings, Janie LaPoint, Ruth Wakefield, Diane Roberts, Paul McQueen and Donna Aubert, eleven grandchildren, twenty-four and a half great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Her life will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2022 from 12PM-2PM at the Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main Street, Pembroke.
