Obituary

BARNSTEAD - Joyce H. Beairsto, 86, of Barnstead, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at her residence with her sons by her side. She was born on November 2, 1936 in Manchester, NH, daughter of the late George and Bertha (Hill) Hartshorn. Joyce was educated in the local schools, graduating from Central High School in 1954 and going on to receive her Bachelor's degree in arts from UNH. Joyce spent much of her time helping others, joining the Girls Scouts at a young age and working hard, earning a trip in High School to Europe with her troop. She continued her involvement with the Girls club in Worcester as a Director as well as a Director with the American Red Cross for several years. Joyce was an extreme advocate working hard to make sure facilities were ADA compliant and was employed for many years with Granite State Independent Living, she believed in these organizations with all of her heart as she overcame many obstacles throughout her life, it was truly her life's mission to help people with disabilities overcome issues with accessibility. She was also extremely involved with her church family, always alongside her late husband. Throughout her life she also enjoyed road trips with her husband to places like Alaska and many others. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Henry A. Beairsto in 2020. She is survived by her two sons, Anthony Beairsto of Barnstead and Christopher Beairsto and Carol of New Durham, three grandchildren, Danielle, Christine and Anya, one great grandson, Aiden Henry Poquette and one more great grandchild on the way. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 4pm-6pm at the Roan Family Funeral Home - Still Oaks Chapel, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway, Epsom. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 11AM at the North Barnstead Congregational Church, 504 N. Barnstead Road, Center Barnstead, NH 03225. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery on Parade Road in Barnstead. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the North Barnstead Congregational Church.
