Concord – Jonathan H. Elwell, 68, of Concord, NH, passed away on April 18, 2025, after a tough fight with leukemia. Born on July 16, 1956, he was the son of the late Gerald Elwell and Mary Lou (Hook) Elwell Taylor.
Jon was a kind, good-natured person with a great sense of humor—right until the end. He loved working with his hands: building and repairing boats, fixing his homes, and building furniture. He worked for Marklynn Pools for over 30 years and truly became part of the Stevens family. In more recent years, he also worked for Irving Oil, making oil deliveries. It was hard work, but he enjoyed it.
Jon is survived by his siblings: Jane and John Bates of Epsom, NH; Steve Elwell of Stuart, FL; and Doug and Elaine Elwell of Hobe Sound, FL. He also leaves behind cousins, nieces, a nephew, and many friends from high school and beyond—all of whom have been very kind to him during this difficult time.
A gathering of friendship will be held on Thursday, May 1st from 5:00 – 7:00PM with a service starting at 6:30PM at the Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main Street, Pembroke, NH 03275. Jon will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Pembroke at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if you can, please consider making a blood donation to the American Red Cross. We learned through this process how valuable those donations are to people. Or donate to an animal shelter or your local SPCA—Jon also loved animals.
