LOUDON – John R. "Jay" Osborne, Jr.,73, of Loudon, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at his residence.
Jay was born on May 28, 1952, in Loudon, the son of the late John R. and Jane L. (Gray) Osborne. He was raised and educated in the local schools and proudly served in the Army National Guard for several years.
Mr. Osborne worked as a mechanic/machinist for 3 Phase Line Construction for many years until his retirement. In his younger years he worked alongside his father in the family trucking business, Osbornes Trucking. Saying he loved fishing would be an understatement, he loved to fish with friends any chance he could Gardening was also a hobby that Jay enjoyed and had recently been discussing what he would plant in the garden in the spring.
Jay is survived by his children, Welsey Osborne and his wife Sarah and Kate O'Dougherty and her husband Jake; a brother, Matthew Osborne and Linda; four grandchildren, Olivia, Evan, Luke and Faith; his lifelong friends, Carl Anderson, Russ Kimball, Al Stevens, Gene Specyalski and Peter Elliott; his caregiver and lifelong friend, Nancy Rowell as well as his Osborne cousins and their families.
