Obituary

PITTSFIELD – John H. Joy, 58, a lifelong resident of Pittsfield, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer. John was born in Concord, NH on September 23, 1967; son of the late Walter H. Joy, Sr. and Marion G. (Price) Joy. He was raised and educated in the local Pittsfield schools. Mr. Joy worked for many years in property management with Steve Aubertin Realty Ent. His real talent was as an undetermined artist; his drawing and painting abilities were phenomenal, he could paint a beautiful picture just from looking at something once, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful artwork for his family and friends to cherish. He also had the extraordinary ability to see potential in the forgotten, with a knack for taking something old and making it look new again. John loved the outdoors fishing, hunting, riding his snowmobiles or just working on them. John was never one for straight lines or paved paths. Whether he was leaning into a sharp curve on his motorcycle or navigating a rocky trail while 4 wheeling, he was truly at home in the driver's seat; to him a 4-wheeler wasn't just a vehicle it was a passport to the woods. John will be remembered for his kind spirit, infectious smile and his many passions. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his dogs, Buddy and Dube. He is survived by his brothers, Walter Joy, Jr. and his wife Annette Smith and Jamie Joy and his wife Brandy Greenwood as well as numerous nieces and one great nephew. A graveside service will be held at Floral Park Cemetery in the spring. The Roan Family Funeral Home – Still Oaks Chapel in Epsom is assisting the family with arrangements.
