She was born Jeannine Vachon on January 3, 1928, in Pembroke, New Hampshire. She attended local schools and was valedictorian of her class at Pembroke Academy in 1947.

Throughout her career, Jeannine worked for both the federal government and the State of New Hampshire. As a federal employee, she served as a secretary in the Adjutant General’s office on Airport Road. She later worked for the State of New Hampshire for 19 years in various positions, retiring as an Assistant Purchasing Agent.

Jeannine was predeceased by her first husband, John L. Carr Jr., father of her three children; her son, Richard Carr; her stepson, Bruce Brofman; and her second husband, Julian Brofman, who died in 2012. For 27 years, Jeannine and Julian enjoyed spending the winter months at their home in Barefoot Bay, Florida.

Jeannine loved playing golf, taking daily walks, playing cards and board games with family and friends, enjoying computer games, reading the Concord Monitor, and watching CNN to stay informed about current events.

She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Ritzenthaler of Manchester, New Hampshire; her son, Brian Carr of Boston, Massachusetts; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her stepdaughter, Vicky Brofman.

There will be no formal service. Cremation will be followed by a small private ceremony at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Allenstown, New Hampshire.
