Obituary

PEMBROKE- Mrs. Jeannette Ida (Hamel) Brasley, 91, of Pembroke, passed away at the Epsom Healthcare Center on January 9, 2026 after a period of declining health.

Born in Concord, Jeannette was the daughter of the late Henry and Ida (Auger) Hamel. She was a lifelong resident of both Allenstown and Pembroke.

Prior to her retirement, she worked as a finisher in the local textile industry. In retirement, Jeannette and her late husband embraced many years of camping and traveling, making new friends along the way with whom they kept in contact with. They spent winters in Florida and summers in Maine, often bringing their grandchildren with them to share in these joyful experiences. When they were not traveling, Jeannette enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, taking long walks, listening to music, calligraphy, and challenging herself to learn a new language. She found joy in the flowers her husband would grow, reminding her of her grandfather's field of gladiolas.

Her family will fondly remember her unwavering drive to care and do for those around her including her late husband during his time of need. She was always placing her family first ahead of herself. She experienced many health challenges over the years and chose to look at the bright side of life. Her sense of humor and positive outlook on life will be deeply missed by her family. Even in her final days she would often say "we had a good life."

Jeannette was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Roland P. Brasley, and her siblings: Albert, Normand and Henry Jr. Hamel, Claire Bisson and Margaret Grimard.

She is survived by her three children: Paul Brasley and his wife Melissa of Concord, Richard Brasley of California and Luanne Blais and her husband David of Pembroke. She is also survived by her grandson, Michael Blais of Pembroke, her granddaughter, Melinda Avery and her husband Daniel of Maine; and her great-grandchildren, Griffin and Robin Jeannette Avery.

The family is grateful for the compassionate and attentive care she received from Epsom Healthcare Center in her final days.

In accordance with her wishes, a private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Assisting the family with arrangements is The Roan Family Funeral Home of Pembroke. To share a memory or offer a condolence, please visit www.roanfamilyfuneral.com
