BARNSTEAD – Janice Marie (Corliss) Sargent, 90, of Barnstead, NH, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Merrimack County Nursing Home.

She was born on October 25, 1935, in Barnstead, NH, the daughter of the late Earl S. and Mildred (Hill) Corliss. She was the beloved wife of 56 years to the late Roy A. Sargent who passed away in 2013.

Janice was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family and making a warm and loving home. She cherished the time she spent with her beloved family and created many wonderful memories with them over the years. She enjoyed taking long walks, sewing, knitting, baking, snowmobiling, boating and traveling. Janice and her husband, Roy, both enjoyed their time as snowbirds, traveling to and from Bradenton, FL, where they could escape the winter months and enjoy the sunshine. Her love of family, simple pleasures, and time spent together will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents and husband, Janice was predeceased by her sister, Evelyn Tasker.

She is survived by her son, Roy A. Sargent and his wife, Denise of Barnstead; her daughter, Pamela Welch and her husband, Kenneth of Bow; two grandchildren, Staci Goonan and her husband, Richard and Chris Silva; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 11:00AM at Riverview Cemetery, Parade Road, Barnstead NH, where she will be laid to rest with her husband. Immediately following the funeral services, there will be a celebration of life for Janice at the Earl B. Clark American Legion Post #42 Hall, 1078 Beauty Hill Road, Barnstead NH.
