Pittsfield – Janet M. Tower, 65, of Pittsfield, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

She was born on January 26, 1961, in Waynesville, MO; she was one of seven children born to the late Thomas and Lena (Brown) Anderson.

Janet’s daughters recall an eclectic childhood with Janet, driving to the Portsmouth mall to see the Thomas Kinkaid artwork, searching for Big Foot, Alien spaceships and ghosts. Janet enjoyed her classic rock, traveling to the mountains, and playing card games such as Zilch and Rummy. Over the years she wrote many pieces, some for children and some political, several she submitted to local newspapers. She will be remembered for her vivacious southern cookin’; friends and family have fond memories of her wontons, baked beans, fried chicken, meatloaf and of course her famous apple pie.

Besides her parents, Janet was predeceased by a brother, Zeke Anderson.

She is survived by her longtime fiancé, Ralph K. Booth, Sr. of Pittsfield; her daughters, Jonna Janelle and her fiancé TJ Tomlinson of Ashland and Alecia Tower of Northwood; five siblings, Buck Anderson, Linda Stockdale, Thomas Anderson and his wife Winona, Clova Falenczykowski and her husband Don and Mary Anderson, two grandchildren, Skyler and Zachariah Nelson as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

There are no services scheduled at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
