PITTSFIELD – Jacquelyn Eleanor Arey, 78, of Pittsfield, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen. Jackie was born on September 8, 1946 in Concord to the late Bruce and Beatrice (Stone) Adams and was part of Pittsfield High School's Class of 1964.
Jacquelyn held numerous jobs in her life, from running the office at the Pittsfield Box Shop, to working on the ambulance crew; however, her final (and favorite) job was a clerk at Danis Market in Pittsfield, where she would joke with customers as they checked out. During her time at Danis Market, Jackie met many new friends and renewed many old acquaintances. Jackie was known for her humorous attitude, strong will, independence, and love for her family. Jackie had a knack for sassy banter, especially with her brother Jim, which always entertained family at holiday events! Jackie also had an incredible memory and could recite any event from the past with dates and times…family members always relied on Jackie to verify birthdays, weddings, deaths, or any other event, and often referred to her as "rain man"!
Jaquelyn is survived by her brother: James "Jim" Adams and his wife Sandra; her aunt: Carol Esburnett; her grandchildren: Brittney Briggs, Katie Isabelle, and Christopher Briggs Jr.; her great grandchildren: Kamden, Karlie, and Eleanor; her niece and nephew: Aimee Adams and Jim Adams and his wife Priscilla; and several cousins: including Nicole (Esburnett) McKenzie and her husband Russell, and her son Christopher Briggs.
