Jack C. Menard, 67, of Pembroke, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at his home. He was born on May 5, 1957 in Barre, VT and was the son of the late Harold and Phyllis (Fortune) Menard.
Jack grew up in Pembroke, NH and attended Pembroke Schools. He participated in many town youth sports including Suncook Little League starting in 1968 and later coached his children. He was captain of the Pembroke Academy freshman basketball team, which went undefeated in 1972. After high school, he played in the Suncook men's softball league for the Sweat Hoggs. He enjoyed woodworking and auto mechanics which continued throughout his life, supporting his love of classic cars, mud racing, and carpentry. He also loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing with his friends and family.
Jack worked at Pepsi-Cola for 39 years and retired in 2020. Over his career, he received multiple awards for safe driving and teamwork. Jack coached his daughter in soccer and was active as a committee chair in Boy Scout Troop 270 with both of his sons, spending countless weekends camping and teaching self-reliance. Jack was baptized at St. Paul's Church in Concord and believed in being generous with his time. He would help with church activities and in his community. His favorite type of work was anything that involved operating his tractor.
With the support of his friends and family, Jack fought a valiant three-year battle with cancer. During that time, he continued his active lifestyle working on cars, family home improvement projects, and his second love, driving his tractor.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years: Cindy (Waterhouse) Menard; his two sons: Jason Menard, John Menard and his wife Kelsey; his daughter: Sarah Larson and her husband Chip; his brother: Gene Menard and his wife Lynn; his five sisters: Donna Goodrich and her husband Jerry, Sandy Hillman and her husband Skip, Marie Menard, Peggy Dutton and her husband Scott, Terry Menard; his three grandchildren: Livy Menard, Tyus Larson, Rylan Harvey; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers: Mike Menard and Joseph Menard.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main Street, Pembroke. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 10 am at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Concord. Please meet directly at the church. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Pembroke.
