Irene E. (Brisbois) Dion, 81, of Fruitland Park, FL, formerly of Suncook, Manchester, and Hooksett, New Hampshire, died peacefully on March 23, 2026, surrounded by her family, after a lengthy illness.
She was born in 1944 in Pembroke, NH, and attended St. John the Baptist parochial school. Irene went on to attend nursing school at Notre Dame Hospital in Manchester, NH and began her career as an OR scrub nurse. In 1969, she graduated from Saint Anselm College with a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Irene then went on to become a Pediatric Nursing Instructor at the Concord, NH School of Nursing, where she taught for ten years. When the school closed, she continued her career as a school nurse at Underhill School in Hooksett, NH, where she served her community for many years.
She will be remembered for her strong will, unwavering strength, attention to details, and her deep devotion to caring for others.
Irene is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ronald Dion; her daughter, Michelle Dion of Chantilly, VA; her grandson, Jonathan Granville of Colorado Springs, CO; her great-grandchildren, Melody and Mason Granville of Colorado Springs, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Jennifer Dion; her parents, Henri and Laurette (Bouley) Brisbois; and her sister, Susan (Brisbois) Nute.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 6:00–8:00 PM at Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main Street, Pembroke, NH. A funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 8:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown, NH. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery on River Road in Allenstown.
