Obituary

ALLENSTOWN - Irene Laurette Cunningham, 77, of Allenstown, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Concord Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on May 22, 1946, in Manchester and was the daughter of the late Leopold and Fabiola (Dionne) Goudreault. Irene spent her early years, growing up and going to school in Manchester, N.H Irene met her husband Bill, in 1967. They were married three years later, in 1970. She was very proud when her and Bil were able to buy their first home in 1994, in Allenstown, N.H. Irene had a tremendous work ethic, and worked for many years, as an electronics assembler at Computervision in Manchester, N.H and then at Fireye in Derry, N.H, until she retired in 2008. Irene loved calling and talking on the phone with all of her friends and family! In addition, Irene loved spending time with her grandchildren. The grandchildren had many "sleepovers' at "Gramma's" house. Irene really enjoyed hosting family and friends at her home for dinner on Sunday. One of Irene's favorite hobbies was to bake cookies, brownies and other treats, especially for her grandchildren! She is survived by her two sons: Gordon Cunningham, Bert Cunningham and his wife Heather; her two daughters: Genia Douidi and her husband Allen, Jennefer Tomi-Odufuwa and her husband Tomi; her brother: Bert Goudreault; her ten grandchildren: Sarah, Faith, Brier, Elijah, Anya, Mary, Amar, Haley, Xavier, Xander; four great grandchildren: Logan, Samuel, Athena, Meredith; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Irene was predeceased by her beloved husband of forty years: William Cunningham; her brother: Lucien Goudreault; and her sister: Jean Goudreault. Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024 from 1pm - 2:30pm at The Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main Street, Pembroke. A prayer service will immediately follow. There is no burial.
