CONCORD – Helen Y. Gelinas, 95, of Concord, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024 with her family by her side. Helen was born on March 28, 1929 in Manchester, daughter of the late Raoul and Bernadette (Valley) Laferiere. She attended the local Manchester schools and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. Mrs. Gelinas was employed for many years with Dunkin Donuts as a Baker and waitress. She loved to keep her mind sharp with crafts like crocheting, knitting and embroidery as well as playing games like word searches, bingo and puzzles. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Samuel Gelinas, her son, Richard Gelinas, two brothers, Leo and Raymond Laferiere and many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her daughter, Therese Smith of Concord, siblings, Robert and Roger Laferiere and Irene Josselin, grandsons, Shawn Smith and Jason Smith, great granddaughter, Nora Cate Smith and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 11AM at St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, River Road, Allenstown. The Roan Family Funeral Home in Pembroke is assisting the family with arrangements.
