Obituary

EPSOM - Heather Dunford, 74, of Epsom, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023 at Concord Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Nebraska on April 2, 1948 but spent much of her childhood in Milford, Surrey, England, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Bewley) Hilkemeier. Heather worked for many years in Waste Managements before her retirement. She was an advocate for many, including animals and for freeing Palestine and its people. One of her favorite quotes, "Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing." British philosopher John Stuart Mill She enjoyed finding old friends on facebook, playing words with friends and mahjong. In her searches for old friends, she was able to rekindle a friendship and have a long-distance love affair after 55 years with Joe Jones of Canada. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her companion of over 20 years, Barry Bartlett, her son, Craig Dunford and sister, Dolores Rowe. She is survived and deeply missed by her daughter, Jean Dunford and her companion, Kendal Stephens of Epsom, niece, Joanne Walcker and nephew, Steven Guiver of Washington. And forever faithful, her beloved Pitbull, Gina. In accordance with her wishes, there are no services. A burial will be held in the spring.
