EPSOM – Gordon N. "Tom" Huckins, 100, of Epsom, formerly of Pittsfield, passed away surrounded by family on Monday, July 1, 2024 at Epsom Healthcare Center.
He was born on February 25, 1924 in Epsom, son of the late Charles N. and Doris (Waterhouse) Huckins.
Tom was educated in the Concord schools, a graduate of Concord High School, he then went on to serve his country in the United States Army Air Force from 1942-1946 as an airplane crew chief. Following his honorable discharge from the military, Tom went on to become a graduate of General Motors Institute in Detroit, MI.
For several years Gordon owned and operated Huckin's Chevrolet and later retired from a salesman position with Walt Lang Chevrolet. Tom was known for being fair and honest as a salesman, he was known as gracious and giving as a human and enjoyed his role as match maker, fixing up many of his own friends.
Besides his parents, Gordon was predeceased by his wife, Ruth (McQuesten) Huckins, and two sisters, Louise Garland and Virginia Yeaton.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews and his half-brother, Charles Huckins of Pembroke as well as numerous friends and acquaintances.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 11AM at Floral Park Cemetery, Pittsfield.
