ALLENSTOWN - George Allen Burpee, Sr., 71, of Allenstown, a proud Veteran of the Army, passed away on May 17, 2023 after a long battle with COPD. Born in Long Island, NY on June 28, 1951 the son of Calvin Burpee and Theresa (Nadeau) Dion. At the age of 18 George enlisted in the Army where he became an engineer. He valued this service highly and attained rank of Sargent. As part of this service he served in the Vietnam War. George enjoyed fishing and was always trying to make someone laugh, he thought he was a jokester. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Ronald Burpee. George is survived by his sisters, Connie Hacker and Mary Rovare; brother, Stephen Burpee; his children, Angela Durham, Allen, Calvin, Michael, Christopher, Demetria and Triston Burpee; grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. A graveside service honoring the life of George Burpee, Sr. will take place at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy Boscawen, on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 9AM.
