Obituary

EPSOM - Ernest "Bucky" Bergevin, 88, of Epsom passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Concord Hospital. Ernest was born on April 8, 1935 to the late William and Gladys (Nason) Bergevin in Allenstown. After Bucky graduated from Pembroke Academy and served in the US Army, he went on to study banking at Hesser Business College. He later worked at Suncook Bank as the Mortgage and Consumer Lending Officer and Bank of NH as the Assistant Vice President. While Bucky could be stubborn at times, he had a big heart and was always willing to help others with anything he could, such as plowing his neighbor's driveways. A fan of the Bruins and Celtics and watching semi-pro basketball, he loved all sports and enjoyed coaching little league. Bucky could be found at the tracks watching dog or horse racing, playing pool or horseshoes, or driving to MA to buy his lottery tickets. He made annual trips to Florida with his wife, Pat and enjoyed going to the Fryeburg Fair. Ernest was predeceased by his step-son, William "Bill" Elkins. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Patricia (Stearns) Bergevin; step-daughter, Kelly Elkins (Matthew Morin); grandchildren, Travis Abbott (Hannah) and Stephanie Alfaro (Jose); great-grandchildren, Adriana and Nyomi; siblings, Robert Bergevin and Pauline Dunlap; nephews, John Dunlap (Wendy), Jeremy "Jamie" Dunlap and Billy Bergevin; nieces, Cynthia Roberts (Anthony) and Roberta Sawtelle (John) and his very good friends who helped him with anything he needed, Dave and Sharon Denoncourt, Eric and Denise Dumont, George Justin, and many others. A graveside service will take place on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 10am at Buck St. Cemetery, Bachelder Rd, Pembroke.
