COLEBROOK - Eleanor M. Creon, 84, of Colebrook formerly of Allenstown passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook following years of health concerns.
Ellie was educated in the local schools and went on to take some college business courses later in life. She worked for many years in the Governor's office monitoring the suicide prevention hotline which was an extremely daunting job but Ellie considered it an honor and saved many people through the years. She was also blessed to help so many in her work with the Social Security Disability Determination Office in Concord, she took great pride in her time there. She was a caretaker, caring for her son Billy during all of his health ailments, advocating for him and making sure he had the proper medical care.
Eleanor loved her animals, some joke she loved them more than her children but her animals were like her children once her own kids were grown and moved away, her dogs Whisper and Foxy never very far from her side. Ellie loved holiday decorating, there was no holiday too small for going all out with her decorations most of which came from her love of crafting through her business EMG Crafts.
She could never say no to a good yard sale or flea market; she was quoted in the Union Leader once saying, "one man's junk is another's treasure". She was fascinated with Egyptian history, learning the Egyptian language and astrology.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Arthur Creon in 2017, one son, Herbert Gaudette, a sister, Winnie Winfrey.
She is survived by her children, Dorothy McDonald and her wife, Jody Eafrati of Manchester, Mary Mailhot of Deerfield, Harold Scott of Manchester, Demaine Scott and his wife Melissa of Allenstown and Billy Boardman of Colebrook, eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and three nieces, Kathy, Linda and Elaine.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 1PM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen. The Roan Family Funeral Home in Pembroke is assisting the family with arrangements. To share a memory or offer a condolence please visit www.roanfamilyfuneral.com
