Eileen Douillette, 74, of Pittsfield, NH passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, after multiple health complications at Concord Hospital.
She was born on February 10, 1951, in Portsmouth, daughter of the late Wallace Emerson and Joyce (Ashley) Emerson. In her early years she resided in Hooksett, NH and was a graduate of Concord High School class of 1969. She attended Plymouth State College, majoring in English. Later in life, she graduated from NHTI, with a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing.
Eileen's career path started in the printing business at Rumford Press and then Evans Printing. Upon graduation from NHTI, she began her nursing career at Epsom Manor, where she also taught future LNA's. Her path led her to Concord Hospital, where she spent many years caring for patients that came through the Emergency Room doors and then finally retired from Cardiology in 2021. She always had a warm, comforting smile. Her caring personality was shown not only to her patients but their families. She received many acknowledgements from patients and co-workers. If it needed to be done, everyone knew they could count on her. She enjoyed taking long drives with her husband to see new places, finding new recipes that she couldn't burn (yes mom, I had to add that), reading a good book, playing a good game of cards, her monthly luncheons with her Sunshine Girls, and most importantly spending time with her family. Eileen was known to grandkids as Meme or Grammie. She would attend every practice and game from soccer, baseball, and football to cheer on her grandson, Derek, and perhaps forgetting to pick him up once from a practice, which was a running joke. She was known at her granddaughter Alyssa's dance studio as Meme, attending all her dance competitions, recitals, and of course dress rehearsals selling the hot dogs. She had attended Hooksett Congregational Church, where she taught Sunday School and sang with her parents in the choir.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Pegge Covatis.
She met the love of her life, Roger, while working at Rumford Press, and after 3 hours on their 1st date, he proposed. They shared 50 years of marriage. She is survived by her loving husband Roger Douillette, Sr., daughter, Elizabeth Lambert, son, Jeffrey Douillette,Sr., stepchildren, Roger Douillette, Jr., Bonnie Scovil, Jim Douillette, Tim Douillette, and Deb Griggs, two sisters, Evelyn Pierce and Elizabeth Clark, 15 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
