Obituary

CHICHESTER - Doug Beaton, 71, of Chichester, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at his residence. Born on July 27, 1951 in Lebanon, he was the son of the late Philip and Eleanor (Sweatt) Beaton. Doug's family moved to Claremont early in his life and he attended the local schools. He went on to receive his BA in Social Work from Plymouth University and, while there, was co-captain of the first ever football team of Plymouth University. Later he received his MBA in Education also at Plymouth. He worked for over 28 years for the State of NH in Health and Human Services. Doug enjoyed camping with his wife in their RV and fishing from his kayak. He also liked target shooting. Riding his 2002 Honda Shadow or his 2003 BMW Z4 were special times for Doug. He attended the Highland Games of New Hampshire each year and celebrated his Scottish Heritage. He was a member of the Bow Men's Club, a former CASA Volunteer as well as a former substitute teacher. He is survived by his wife, Lorna Ross of Chichester, with whom she shared 11 years of marriage, his daughters, Mara Beaton and Tori Beaton both of Richmond, VA, step-son, Matt Marquis and his wife Rosalia of Mt. Vernon, sister, Bonnie Rozzo of Dover, niece, Jessica Rozzo and nephew, Jason Rozzo and his beloved dog, Tippy. A Celebration of Doug's life will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 12PM-2PM at the Roan Family Funeral Home-Still Oaks Chapel, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway, Epsom.
