Barnstead – Doris M. "Dot" McCormack, 81, of Barnstead, NH, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, after a brief illness.
She was born on April 9, 1944, in New Bedford, MA, daughter of the late Lucien and Lucienne (Gagne) Lascelle.
Doris graduated from Pembroke Academy and worked for many years at the Concord Regional VNA prior to her retirement.
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Doris was a sense of warmth and love to all who knew her. She touched many lives with her generous spirit and open heart. She was known for her boundless kindness and deep compassion. Doris found her greatest joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren – moments filled with laughter and love. She lived a life rooted in love – love for her family and the beauty of the natural world. Her gardens were a place of peace and joy just like her presence in our lives. Her passion for gardening reflected her nurturing nature – always growing – always giving. An avid reader, Doris found comfort in books. Her wonderful sense of humor could light up a room, and she always knew just the right words to say to make someone smile. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all those whose lives were better because she was in them.
In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her sisters, Claire Severance and Jeanine Lavoie; and her brothers, Marcel Lascelle and Paul Lascelle.
Doris is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Michael McCormack; daughter, Kathy DuPont and her fiancé, Real Biron; son, Jeff McCormack and his wife, Karen; two grandchildren, Colby DuPont and his fiancé, Anna Abraham, and Jessica Eames and her husband, Taylor; and five great grandchildren, Eli, Nolan, Caleb, Clyde and Hayden.
