Obituary

ALLENSTOWN – Mrs. Doreen M. (Young) Baillargeon, 62, of Allenstown, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on August 31, 2024. Born in Fitzwilliam NH, Doreen was the daughter of the late Wallace Henry Young and Irene Mae (Dunton) Young. She was raised and educated in Winchendon and graduated from Monadnock Regional High School. Prior to her recent retirement, Doreen was employed as the Director of online training and education for Vytek Laser Manufacturing in Fitchburg MA. Doreen had a vast and deep array of skill sets and was often called upon to work side by side with Vytek ownership on the company's toughest, most complex, projects. Previously, Doreen was employed as a lead graphic designer for Yankee Magazine in Dublin NH. An avid golfer, Doreen loved the personal challenge of improving her game and her achievement of an 11-12 handicap was testimony to that. Mostly though, she enjoyed spending time walking the course with her loving husband Paul and also with family and close friends. Doreen was well known for reliably driving the ball straight up the fairway. She would always reassure Paul that it was ok that most of his golf balls smelled like pine pitch because what really mattered was that they spent quality, enjoyable time together. So true. Big smile to that. She loved so thoroughly, so deeply, and nothing made her happier than spending time with family. Paul would often tell people how lucky he felt to have Doreen as his wife. Her daughters Stephanie and Sarah would often visit, there are many shared memories of artistic projects, hosting cook outs, and traditional Thanksgiving Pie baking all while wearing matching "jammies." Doreen enjoyed crafting, photography and sewing. If she wanted to learn how to do something, she had the impressive ability to become a self-taught expert on the subject. Doreen also loved to spend time in service to improving the quality of life of others, both 2 legged and 4 legged. She oversaw the New England Woodcarvers Tree of Hope for a number of years, made face masks for hospitals during Covid, and sewed nearly 3000 dog collars and leashes in support of Motley Mutts Doggie rescue. Doreen and Paul's adorable fur-kid, Lana Bean Tail-Wagger, joined the household through this rescue program. The entirety of Doreen's generous nature goes on. Her passing leaves such a hole in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She is so deeply missed. Through this all, we shall carry with us the warmth of her love and the joyful memories we shared until the day that we meet again. Thank you for being YOU, our sweet, our perfect, Doreen. A daughter, mother, sibling, friend and wondrous wife. Doreen is survived by her husband Paul Baillargeon; her daughters: Stephanie Means of Hooksett NH, Sarah Venturi and her husband Tony of Manchester NH, Tonia Lupien of Wenham MA, several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, as well as her brother Charles Young and wife Janice and family of Swanzey NH, sisters, Betty Vonlangen and family of Tonawanda NY, Terry Varney and family of Fitzwilliam NH, Denise Young-Vivian, husband Steve and family of Brooklet Ga.
