CONCORD- Mrs. Dolores A. "Dolly" (Descheneau) Wood, 77, of Concord, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in the care of the Granite VNA Hospice House on May 8, 2026. Born in Hartford, CT, Dolly was the daughter of the late Ernest O. and Rose A. (Poitrois) Descheneau. She was raised and educated in Berlin, NH and later moved to Manchester, where she was a graduate of the former St. Antoine High School. In earlier years, Dolly was employed as a CNA for local nursing homes. She was later employed as an assembler for Sprague Electric and later worked in the shipping and receiving department. Prior to her retirement, Dolly was employed as a mental health worker for the State of New Hampshire. She enjoyed reading, playing cribbage and spending time with her daughter. Dolly wanted to be remembered as someone who liked to joke around and was usually sarcastic. She was a proud monthly donor to St Jude's Children's Hospital and St Joseph Indian School. Following the death of her husband, Dolly met David, who would become her loving and devoted companion for 21 years. She was full of love and respect for him and it became the best 21 years of his life. She was predeceased by her son, Kevin Wood. Dolly is survived by her beloved companion of 21 years, David Smith of Concord, her daughter, Kristine Flick of Penacook, her son, Dennis Wood of Texas, her grandson, Mike and great grandson, Wyatt.
