Denise Gail (Dehnert) Johnson, 64, passed away unexpectedly at home in Loudon, NH on Sunday, September 14, 2025. She was born on November 1, 1960, in Sacramento, CA, daughter of the late John Phillip and June Lenore (Sprague) Dehnert.
Denise was raised in Citrus Heights, CA and was a 1978 graduate of San Juan High School. She married the love of her life, Jack Lee Johnson. They shared many years together before his passing in 2024. In addition to her parents and husband, Denise was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Halvorsen and her brother-in-law, Jay Eisenberg.
Her heart belonged to God, first and foremost, a love she shared with her children. She was a loving mother. She read and collected books and showed great interest in singing at an early age, though never pursued. Her humility, resilience, and sense of humor were second to none. While a reserved and quiet individual, she was a pillar of strength and inspiration to those around her. She had many friends and made many unique connections that she never dreamed of making throughout her life. Although a homemaker in title, she wore many hats as a hard-working provider, an advisor, a devout Christian, and a compassionate ear, willing to put herself last without hesitation. While her passing was sudden, her family takes great comfort in knowing she is now at home.
She is survived by her children, Joshua Johnson and his wife, Sabrina of Thailand, Nathaniel Johnson and his wife, Cristin of Epsom, NH, and Sarah Beistel and her husband, Bryan of CA; her grandchildren, Mary, Elisabeth, Jonathan, Hannah, Rachel and Rebecca Johnson, Dominic, Lily, Reese and Abigail Johnson, and Elyse Beistel; siblings, Debi Eisenberg of CA and John Dehnert and his wife, Coleene of ID; brother-in-law, Ron Halvorsen of CA; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 3:00PM at her home church, Hillside Baptist Church, 547 Pembroke Street, Pembroke, NH 03275. The Roan Family Funeral Home – Still Oaks Chapel in Epsom is assisting the family with arrangements. To share a memory or offer a condolence please visit www.roanfamilyfuneral.com.
