CHICHESTER - David P. Morse, born on November 24, 1937, in Manchester, NH, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Concord Hospital after a brief illness. David, a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, a resident of Chichester, having previously lived in Pembroke and Chester, NH. He was a co-owner of Haggett's Marine, Inc. with his twin brother in Concord, NH. Retirement was never a thought and he remained a dedicated businessman until a short time before his passing. David was a proud alumnus of Pinkerton Academy in Derry.
David is remembered for his deep love for his family and his unwavering commitment to his work. He had an amazing memory for people, places, and events. Many a winter day would find old and new friends gathered about the store's woodstove trading horse tales from the past and exchanging news of the day. He took a great interest in everybody whether it was while he was delivering/picking up boats, the breakfast crowd at McDonald, or picking up a dozen at Dunkins. He seemed to be able to fix almost anything, weld a trailer frame, repair a boat motor, and machine a new bolt to do the job.
His 64 years of marriage to Gretchen, a testament to their enduring love, is one of his most cherished achievements. He is survived by his loving wife Gretchen (MacDonald) Morse; his daughters, Joanne Morse and Linda Richter; his twin brother, Dana Morse; his sister, Nancy Kennedy; his granddaughter, Krystyana Richter and grandson, Sebastian Richter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Evelyn (Wetherbee) Morse.
