Obituary

Daryl Orlando Overy, 41, of Rhode Island and New Hampshire, passed away unexpectedly on March 28, 2026. Born on September 28, 1984, and raised in Bristol, Rhode Island, Daryl spent the past decade living between Pawtucket, Rhode Island, and Berlin, New Hampshire. Known affectionately as “Daryl McDaryl Overy,” he brought humor, warmth, and an unmistakable presence to all who knew him. Daryl was a man of extraordinary generosity, someone who would quite literally give the shirt off his back and often went without so others would not have to. He put family and friends above all else, living with a quiet selflessness and deep loyalty that defined his life. He took pride in working with his hands and valued the time he spent alongside his stepfather Paul Michaud and his uncle Keith Stephenson. Whether fixing something, building, or helping someone in need, Daryl was always most at home when he was lending a hand. Daryl had a lifelong love for motorsports, especially snowmobiling and jet skiing. That passion began in childhood, playing with Matchbox cars on Robin Drive, his childhood home, and stayed with him throughout his life. He was raised by his beloved grandparents, Marianna “Nina” Luciano Overy and John “Jack” Overy, affectionately known as “Ma” and “Pa.” Alongside his brother Nicholas, and with the love and support of his aunt and uncle Paula and Keith Stephenson, Daryl was truly raised by a village. He carried that love forward in his life and remained deeply devoted to both his grandmother Nina and his mother Marianne Overy, a proud “mama’s boy” to them both. Daryl was predeceased by his grandparents, Nina and Jack Overy; his father, Joseph Legros; and his grandmother, Louise Legros. He is survived by his loving mother Marianne Overy and her partner Paul Michaud; his brother Nicholas Overy and sister-in-law Sarah Overy; and his cherished nieces Olivia and Emma. He is also survived by his step-siblings Nichole Hutchinson, Danielle Michaud, Kaylyn Early, and Leah Michaud, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, including his cousin Danielle Oliveira Da Graca, who remained one of Daryl’s biggest supporters and advocates throughout his life. Daryl also leaves behind his fiancé Nicole Murphy and their son Jordan, whom Daryl loved with all his heart. Daryl will be remembered for his big heart, his generosity, and the way he always put others before himself. His love for family, his willingness to help anyone, and the joy he brought into everyday moments will never be forgotten. A service for Daryl will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, beginning at 11:30AM Sharp at The Cremation Garden at North Burial Ground, 1081 Hope Street, Bristol, RI 02809. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Daryl’s memory to The Herren Project (https://herrenproject.org/donate-3/) “The love of a family is measured not in words, but in the sacrifices we make for one another.
