Obituary

BARNSTEAD- Dan Berry, Sr., 79, died at home after a short battle with cancer on July 29, 2023. He was born October 21, 1943, in Rochester, NH, the son of Alberton H. and Marjorie (Wilkinson) Berry. Dan graduated from Austin Cate Academy, Class of 1961. Following graduation, he served with the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. After the war, he married the love of his life, Barbara Heath, of Pittsfield, NH. They settled briefly in Pittsfield before moving to Littleton, NH where Dan was a driver for UPS. They eventually settled in Barnstead to raise their family. Dan was a lifelong trucker. He owned his own rig for a period of time and was a cross-country driver, eventually taking local and East-Coast jobs before retiring in 2022. In 1983, Dan gave his life to Jesus. He was active in his church, Epsom Bible Church, until his illness and he was a big advocate for Christian education. Dan was a family man. He loved his family and he never met a stranger. He loved meeting new people and had a memorable sense of humor. In addition to his parents, Dan was predeceased by his younger brother, Randy Berry. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara (Heath) Berry; his son, Daniel Berry, Jr. and his wife Lori, of Baton Rouge, LA; his daughter, Jodi (Berry) Glines and her husband Jonathan, of Franklin, NH; eight grandchildren, Jordan (Berry) Jennings and her husband Nicholas; Kylie (Berry) Edmonston and her husband Austin; MacKenzie Glines; Sarah Glines; Katherine Glines; Aaron Glines; Elijah Glines; and Simon Glines; his older brother, Kenneth A. Berry and his wife Charlotte; his younger sister, Bonnie (Berry) Chretien and her husband Lee; and many nieces and nephews. A service of remembrance will be held at 11am on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Epsom Bible Church, 398 Black Hall Rd. Epsom, NH, with a reception to follow.
