Obituary

PEMBROKE – Daniel A. Auger, 55, of Pembroke, passed peacefully on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 surrounded by family following twenty months of aggressive treatment for cancer. He was born on September 6, 1968 in Manchester, son of Ron and Judy (Turcotte) Auger of Bedford. Dan was raised in Manchester and was a graduate of Memorial High School. He then attended New Hampshire Technical Institute for electrical studies. He was self-employed as the Owner of Advantage Home Inspections, working more than 20 years as a Home Inspector. Dan was a bright light in every room, always ready with a joke or a clever comment. With his contagious sense of humor and quick wit, he particularly enjoyed time spent with family and friends that would inevitably overflow with fun conversation and endless laughter. Dan was a good and kind friend who loved with his whole heart. Dan recently renewed his love for woodworking, having beautifully hand-crafted chest boards and clocks. If there was a New England sports game on, you could always find him cheering on the team from wherever he was. Outdoors, Dan liked to kayak, fish and hunt, and was a member of the Suncook Valley Rod & Gun Club. From his favorite chair, he could watch his bird feeder and enjoyed identifying each new species. Vacationing with his wife to beaches throughout Maine and Florida was a favorite thing to do. Besides his parents, Dan is survived by his wife Linda (Owen) Auger of Pembroke, with whom he shared over 26 years; children Kourtney Vanasse of Hampton, her husband Jason, son Charles and Baby Vanasse expected in the fall; Tyler Rumfelt of Middleburg, Florida, his wife Candace, son Ethan and daughter Scarlett; Adam Rumfelt of Concord and his son Owen; and Kyle Auger of Weare and his significant other Bethany Blogg; sister, Katherine Laurendeau of Bedford, her husband Ricky and their children, Conner, Kaleigh and Maci. Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main Street, Pembroke. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Parish in Allenstown. Following Cremation, Dan will be interred at Mt.
