PEMBROKE – Mrs. Claire (Plourde) Scott, 92, of Pembroke, passed away peacefully at home on August 17, 2025 after a period of declining health.
A lifelong resident of Pembroke, Claire was the daughter of the late Romeo and Therese (Riopel) Plourde.
In earlier years, she worked as a devoted companion to Lawrence and Evelyn Whittemore and later for the telephone company. She then spent many years working alongside her husband in his construction business. .
Active in community affairs, Claire was the past president of the Pembroke Women's Club in the 1970s and was a past library trustee. She was also a trustee of the Family Bank and Trust.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph W. Scott, her daughter, Elizabeth A. Scott, her brothers, Oscar Plourde and Robert Plourde, and her sister, Lucille Ritchotte.
Claire is survived by her two children: Fred Scott and his wife Nancy and Elaine Bonner and her husband David all of Pembroke. She was the sister to Lawrence Plourde of Pembroke, Evelyn Plourde of Allenstown and Florence Erdle of North Dakota. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, August 21st from 4 to 6 P.M. in The Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main St. in Pembroke. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 22nd at 10 A.M. in St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
