PARRISH, FL - Claire Gardner, 77, passed away at her home in Parrish, Florida surrounded by her loved ones. Claire Dorothy Guilbeault was born in Manchester, NH on April 20, 1947 to Raymond and Evelyn Guilbeault. She arrived during the last snowstorm of the year; in many ways, that set the tone for her life. She always tried to prepare for any eventuality and her attention to detail and punctuality were two of her most admirable traits.
She spent most of her childhood in Clinton and Lancaster, Massachusetts. In 1965, she moved back to New Hampshire to attend Mount St. Mary's College and earned her Bachelor's degree in 1969.
She began her professional career at Pembroke Academy in Pembroke, NH in 1969. In 1971, she married fellow teacher William Gardner. She worked at Pembroke Academy for her entire 35-year career, teaching business skills, shorthand, accounting, and keyboarding. Many of her colleagues remember her fondly for her nurturing mentorship. Both Claire and her husband, William retired in 2004 and enjoyed their time together, splitting life between Maine in the summers and Florida in the winter. They spent many fun years with their daughter Leah's retired guide dogs, Sicily and Vander.
Claire Gardner is survived by her daughters, Leah Gardner of Miami Lakes, Florida and Erin Ibey and her husband, Ben Ibey of North Hampton, NH and her beloved granddaughter, Gwendolyn Ibey. She is also survived by many cousins in both the Guilbeault and Raymond families.
