BARNSTEAD- Mr. Christopher E. Burns, age 76, of Barnstead, passed away at Concord Hospital on August 26, 2026, after a period of declining health.

Born in Boston, Chris was the son of the late Thomas E. and Ruth M. (Kelly) Burns. He was raised and educated in Dorchester, MA, and proudly served in the Army National Guard for six years.

Prior to his retirement, Chris worked as a sales representative for Procter & Gamble and later for Deli Dynamics. After retiring from sales, he continued serving his community as the Head of Custodians for the Hillsborough-Deering School District.

Chris was a lifelong fan of Jimmy Buffett and The Beach Boys. He loved playing the guitar, cheering on the Red Sox and Patriots, and never missed an opportunity to enjoy the music he adored. Some of his happiest moments were spent attending Red Sox games with his grandson Sam and sharing yearly father–daughter dates with Kelly to see Jimmy Buffett in concert. He also enjoyed watching his granddaughter Katie play basketball and was always proud to see her on the court. Chris treasured holiday meals and family game nights at Jen’s house with his family. He and Holly especially loved playing music and movie trivia whenever they had the chance, sharing countless moments of fun and connection over the years.

Above all else, Chris cherished his family. He spent 38 wonderful years—33 of them married—with his beloved wife, Holly, building a life filled with laughter, devotion, and unwavering partnership. Even in the most difficult times, Chris’s sense of humor remained unmatched, always finding a way to make others smile.

He was predeceased by his sister, Bette Phillips.

Chris is survived by his wife, Holly J. (Gallant) Burns; his daughters, Jen Burns and her husband Bill Caldwell of Barnstead, and Kelly Burns and her husband Fred Daigle of Dracut, MA; his grandchildren, Sam Caldwell and Katie Caldwell; and his dog, Olive, who was his pride and joy.
