Obituary

NORTHWOOD – Christopher E. Brown, 42, of Northwood, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. He was born on June 14, 1983 in Concord, the only son to Everett W. "Chuck" and Sharolyn L. (Reinhold) Brown of Northwood. "Brownie" as he was known to his family, friends and colleagues. His career in Fire Service started in 1997 when he became a part of Jr. Explorers Program, working his way up through the ranks over the years, holding title of Lt. and most recently promoting to Captain in March. He treated his brothers and sisters of Northwood Fire and Rescue as a part of his family, he will be greatly missed by many as he was an outstanding member of his community. Fire Service wasn't his only passion, Chris was the director of Northwood Town Works for over 6 years, he had his own roofing business which he ran with his wife, Desiree, D&C Roofing and General Construction, he also helped run the family business, Chucks alignment and auto, when he wasn't working, he could be found duck hunting, fishing, golfing, trapping, going to concerts with his wife, taking a trip to the ocean and playing softball for many adult leagues. Besides his parents, Chris is survived by his wife and soulmate, Desiree (Hutchins) Brown of Northwood, with whom he shared the last 11 years with. He was an amazing dad to his children, Griffin Brown of Barnstead, Lauren Cofferen and Maci Brown of Northwood, sister, Miranda "Mandy" Lockard and her husband Mike of Northwood, niece, Reagan, nephews, Everett, Garrett and Seguin, Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Richard and Donna Hutchins of Pembroke, one sister-in-law and 2 brothers-in-law, friends, aunts, uncles, cousins as well as his fellow beloved firefighters. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 2PM-4PM with a Firefighter Walk through scheduled for 3:30PM at Epsom Bible Church, 398 Black Hall Road, Epsom. A funeral service will begin at 4:30PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Northwood Fire Fighters Association or the Northwoods Explorer Post, both are located at 85 Main Street, Northwood or to Ducks Unlimited, One waterfowl way, Memphis, TN.
