Obituary

ALLENSTOWN- Mrs. Christine (Barnes) Taylor, 67, of Allenstown, passed away peacefully and surrounded by close family and friends near and far at the Bedford Hills Center on May 27, 2022 after a period of declining health. Born in Manhattan, NY, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Ann (Eschauzier) Barnes. Christine spent her early years in Mexico City where she attended private schooling and met her future husband, Rick Bolin. Christine and Rick moved several times after graduating from school, including Texas, Arizona, and Vermont, before moving to Concord, NH in 1987. Christine lived in the Greater Concord area until her passing. Her first son Ryan Joseph Bolin was born in Flagstaff Arizona April 26th, 1978, and shortly thereafter the family moved to Lyndonville, Vermont. Their second child, Tabitha Christine Bolin, was born January 21st, 1980. Tragically, Tabitha passed away just 43 days later on March 4th, 1980. Though grief-stricken, Christine and Rick carried on, and Jesse Stephan Bolin was born March 28th, 1981 in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. During a year-long stay at a house in Nelson, NH, Lindsay Christine Bolin was born September 2nd, 1985 in Littleton, NH. Christine's children fondly remember the years growing up in Vermont and New Hampshire, where family was truly closest to her heart. At least annually, the family would make road trips to visit grandparents, cousins, brothers, aunts and uncles in Connecticut or Arizona, where most of Christine and Rick's immediate family resided. A close-knit family with a rich and prestigious history, Christine loved spending time catching up, reminiscing, and telling funny stories full of (terrible) puns. Christine and Rick decided to walk different paths in the mid-to-late 90's, and Christine moved to a new home in Concord during this time. Having been a stay-at-home mother for nearly 20 years, Christine was determined to support her family. Christine earned her Certified Nursing Assistant certificate and took a position at Havenwood-Heritage Heights in Concord, NH around 1996-1997. She worked full-time 3rd shift so she could be home in time to ensure her children were fed and off to school in the mornings and fed and in bed at a reasonable time at night. Christine truly sacrificed to ensure her children, the light of her life, were cared for. Christine was (and remains) a hero to her children for her dedication to them and to help give them the opportunities to succeed. Christine worked for Havenwood in various capacities, most notably as the receptionist until around 2013, when a debilitating shoulder injury forced her into retirement. She met Bruce Taylor in 2004, and they were married in 2013 after a long engagement. Bruce and Christine shared a unique love story, coming from entirely different backgrounds and interests. They met at a karaoke bar where they sang together, and quickly fell in love thereafter. Christine and Bruce found they had more in common than originally thought, with each growing to love and appreciate the other over time. Theirs was a tender and beautiful love, developed over many years. On December 25th, 2017, tragedy struck once more. Christine's eldest son, Ryan Bolin, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness, at the age of 39. The shock of this loss was one that reverberated in Christine's heart and core, and the grief of Ryan's passing deeply affected her. She honored Ryan's memory in her own way and spoke frequently about her love for him. In late 2020, Christine was admitted into rehabilitative care for a shoulder injury sustained from a fall. After many attempts to recover from the injury, she was admitted to long-term care residency at Bedford Hills Center in Bedford, NH. She spent the final part of her life in the capable care of the staff, all of whom grew to love her. Christine passed away peacefully in the presence of her family, sharing stories of her, laughing and crying about her wonderful and prolific life. She will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her. Having survived breast cancer, she valued everything around her. She greatly enjoyed nature and the outdoors, especially birds, flowers, hummingbird feeders and motorcycle riding. Christine also enjoyed reading, camping and puzzles, but above all else, cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. She was an avid reader and student of life, always learning and challenging herself and her worldview. She kept up with current events and politics. Frequently, she would irritatedly answer calls and dismiss even her children if they called during the 6-o'clock news. She was an activist and progressive, caring deeply about events that affected the world, particularly voting, gay rights, and international affairs. She loved the medical field and much of her own care was influenced by her direction. She was fascinated by biology and life, and could often be found watching nature or medical shows depicting content most would find squeamish. She could identify plants, birds, and all manner of wildlife easily. Christine was one of those people that simply knew a little (or a lot) about everything. Christine was predeceased by her son, Ryan Joseph Bolin; her daughter, Tabitha Christine Bolin and her sister, Deborah Livingston. She is survived by her beloved husband, Bruce Taylor of Allenstown; her parents, Stephan and Karen Livingston, her son, Jesse Bolin and his partner Jericka Angelini of Pembroke; her daughter, Lindsay Bolin of Portland, OR; her stepdaughter, Aria Niles-Carbonneau and her husband Mario of Hooksett; her sister, Carole A. Ford of Colorado Springs, CO; her grandchildren, Rowyn & Draken, and Dawn, Harlie and Halie Carbonneau; and her great grandchildren, Pharaoh and Hunter. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. A service will be planned for a future date.
