Obituary

PITTSFIELD – Charles Tupper MacGlashing, 71, of Pittsfield, passed away suddenly at home on April 21, 2025. Born in Cambridge, MA, Chuck was the son of the late Richard and Eleanor (Mistyshin) MacGlashing. He grew up in Danvers, MA, and graduated from Danvers High School. Chuck was a bricklayer, mason, and mechanic by trade—respected for his work ethic, skilled hands, and pride in his craft. After a construction accident ended his career early, he faced life's changes with grace, courage, and determination. He built not just with his hands, but with his heart -- a loving home, a tight-knit family, and a wide circle of friends. A lifelong Red Sox fan, Chuck held season tickets for nearly 30 years. Whether cheering from Fenway or his favorite chair, he rarely missed a game. He also enjoyed hunting, fixing things in the garage, and could repair just about anything. Above all, Chuck loved his family. He was a devoted father to his three boys -- Jesse, Chuck Jr., and Jake—and a proud grandfather who cherished time with his grandkids. He also treasured his days at Great East Lake, soaking up the sun, listening to classic rock, and sharing moments with family and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard "Chico" MacGlashing. Chuck is survived by his sons: Jesse MacGlashing and his wife, Yvonne of Pittsfield, NH; Chuck MacGlashing Jr. and his wife, Kristen of Reading, MA and Jacob MacGlashing and his wife, Alyssa of Rye. He also leaves behind his sisters: Deborah Picillo and her husband, Ken of Laguna Niguel, CA; Christine Coppola of San Francisco, CA; Corinne Connor and her husband, Peter of Hampton and Denise MacGlashing of Exeter. He was a beloved grandfather to Noah, Jesse Jr., Ainsley, Adelyne, Charlie, Josie, and Ewan, and will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. A memorial service to celebrate Chuck's life will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 10:00am at the St. Michael Church, 9 Lincoln Street, Exeter NH, 03833.
