DEERFIELD – Charles E. Simmons, Jr., 83, of Deerfield passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Concord Hospital, surrounded by family, following a period of declining health. Charles was born on October 3, 1942, in Bellows Fall, VT; he was the son of the late Charles E. and Bula A. (Covey) Simmons. He was educated in the local schools and went on to attend Keene State University. For over 50 years, Charles was employed with General Electric both here in NH and later in NC. He enjoyed bird watching, woodworking, completing jigsaw puzzles, playing golf and watching sports on tv, especially tennis. Besides his parents, Charles was predeceased by his wife Margaret (Truell) Simmons and a sister, Margaret Timpano. He is survived by his daughter, Lacinda Broek and her husband Jonathan, stepson, Phil Sargent; grandchildren, Michael Broek and his wife Jennifer, John Broek and his wife Kyle, step grandson, Matthew; great grandchildren, Bailey, Andrew, Jason, Ellis and Walker. In accordance with his wishes there are no services scheduled. The Roan Family Funeral Home in Pembroke is assisting the family with arrangements.
