LOUDON - Mrs. Catherine Eugenia "Kay" (Ostaszewski) Wallace, 83, of Loudon, NH, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord while in the wonderful care of the Granite VNA Hospice House on June 26, 2023.
Born in Boston MA, Kay was the daughter of the late Edmund J. Ostaszewski and Lucienne Aurora Cantara. She grew up in Somerville, Massachusetts and was a graduate of Somerville High School. She went on to attend the Nashua Vocational Technical College Paralegal Studies program while working and raising a family.
Before moving to Loudon, Kay lived with her family in Hudson, New Hampshire where she drove school bus for many years in the town. She also worked for the J.F. McElwain Shoe Factory, the Nashua Trust Company as an Auditor, and Canfield Real Estate as a licensed Real Estate Broker. Despite being a working mom, she dutifully attended her children's little league games, school events, and tended to various other mom responsibilities.
She also started a medical billing company with her close friend Janice Mistler, then later moved to Gilford, NH where she worked at Health First Family Care Center in Franklin. Her final job was as the Office Manager for Warren Street Family Counseling in Concord. Not being one to slow down, she continued to hold executive board positions with her Homeowners Association during her retirement. Kay truly set the example of what it means to work hard.
Kay was a dedicated member of the Pembroke Congregational Church, where she was a former trustee and choir member.
For more than 20 years, she enjoyed monthly gatherings with her "Game Night" friends. She also enjoyed trips to the casinos to play the slot machines with Roberta, Dave, Carol, and Dick. Above all, she loved singing in the church choir. She cherished the time spent with family, especially her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and feeding everyone, particularly at the holidays. Her famous holiday feasts were second to none.
She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Fedion.
Kay is survived by her husband of 45 years, Gerald Wallace; her children, Charles Valenti of Tuftonboro, Nancy Valenti of Saco, ME and Derek Valenti and his wife Michelle of Loudon; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Valenti of Concord; her grandchildren, David Sanborn, Angela Valenti, Deven Valenti and Tomas Valenti; and her great grandchildren, Easton and Charlotte Sanborn. She also leaves behind her lifelong best friend Janice Mistler, as well as many dear friends and family.
