ALLENSTOWN - Carolyn B. (Hanson) Gillespie, 45, of Allenstown, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. Born on April 29, 1980, in Concord, the daughter of Edwin-Nils Hanson and Sheila (Kowalczyk) Hanson. Carolyn's compassionate nature and unyielding dedication to caring for others formed the cornerstone of her life.
Carolyn was a pillar of empathy in her profession as a Licensed Nursing Assistant in the healthcare sector. Her generosity knew no bounds as she dedicated many long hours to her work, going above and beyond in her commitment to private homecare. Her empathetic nature and dedication to her patients were evident in her work and the relationships she built. Away from her professional life, Carolyn was an ardent Red Sox fan and an ocean lover, often traveling with her husband and collecting seashells at the beach.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn is survived by her husband, Kevin Gillespie; sisters, Heather Deleo and her husband, Matthew and Susan Duclos and her husband, Richard; nieces and nephews, Talor and Hunter McJuary and Alexandria, Cynthia and Jameson Duclos and many other family and friends.
Carolyn’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the staff of Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Concord Hospital and Granite VNA Hospice House. Carolyn frequently expressed her gratitude for the excellent care she received throughout her cancer treatment from Dartmouth Hitchcock, and the exceptional attention given to her and her family from Concord Hospital and the Granite VNA Hospice House.
A Celebration of Carolyn's Life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 12pm-4pm at the Red Blazer Restaurant in Concord. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in honor of Carolyn to St. Jude Children's Hospital, https://www.stjude.org/donate.
