HUDSON, Carmine P. Oliva, 84, of Hudson, originally from E. Boston, MA, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Friday, June 21, 2024.
He was born in E. Boston on August 31, 1939, son of the late Carmen and Ines (Brancati) Oliva.
Carmine was a lifetime member of the East Boston Yacht Club having joined in 1969. He earned his CDL at a young age and worked for most of his life as a truck driver with Dewey's Express, McCalls Trucking and more recently with Lightning Express until his retirement at the age of 82. He was also a DJ for over 30 years under his business name "Music Unlimited" through the years he played in many well-known clubs including Johnny D's in Somerville, Jimmy Maggs in E. Boston as well as many weddings, Christenings and other family gatherings. Carmine was the "Life of the Party". He loved music, listening to his favorite groups, The Beatles, Fats Domino and many other rock legends. He loved spending time with his family, including his dog and sitting on the deck.
Besides his parents, Carmine was predeceased by his siblings, Jimmy, Annie, Sammy, Millie, Sonny and Laura.
He is survived by his loving wife Judith (Lakin) Oliva of Hudson, with whom he shared 34 years of marriage, his former wife Bernice of Lynn, his children, Bunny Asquith and her husband John of Winthrop, MA, Carmine Oliva and his wife Sandie of Clermont, FL, David Oliva and his wife Danielle of Billerica, MA, Teresa Roberts and her husband Buddy of Westminster, MA, Linda Polia and her husband Paul of South Carolina, Tracey Ardolino and her husband Andy of Windham, NH and Tarsha Callahan-Afonso of Brockton, MA, siblings, Ines Freni and her husband Joe of Conway, NH, Delores Hilton of Peabody, MA, Cecelia Diperi and her husband Joe of Billerica, MA, Carol O'Brien of Revere. Carmine was also blessed with 30 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins and his faithful dog Boston.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 10AM – 11AM at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 2 Searles Road, Windham, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM in the church. Interment will follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody, MA at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 2 Wall Street #104, Bedford, NH 03101.
