LOUDON- Mr. Carl J. Svenson, 73, of Loudon, passed away suddenly on October 8, 2023 from injuries sustained in an accident.
Born in Woburn, MA, Carl was the son of the late Frederick and Emilie (Lacaroz) Svenson. He was raised and educated in Sanbornton and was a graduate of Franklin High School. Carl enlisted in the United States Air Force, specializing in electronics and proudly served his country for 4 years before being honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1972.
Following his military service, Carl attended and graduated from NHTI. For the remainder of his life, he lived his true passion for flying, the last 35 years as a helicopter pilot for JBI Helicopters. He held many airplane and helicopter certifications and served as a flight instructor for many years.
An avid outdoorsman, Carl had an affinity for hiking and successfully completed the New Hampshire 48 4000-Footers. He also enjoyed playing golf with his wife. Amongst his many trades, he was also a master electrician. He was very talented with his hands and could fix and do just about any challenge that faced him. He was beloved by all and will be lovingly remembered for his enormous heart and dedication to those around him.
He was predeceased by his siblings: Albert Svenson, Stephen Svenson, Frederick Svenson, Charles Svenson and Marie Pierce.
Carl is survived by his wife of 29 years, Phyllis C. (McMahon) Svenson; his son, Zachary Adams of Brighton, MA; his siblings, Karen King of Pembroke, MA, Jean Ames and her husband Dennis of Concord, NH, Linda Boucher of Laconia, Dorothy Adcock and her husband Ron of The Villages, FL and Michael Svenson and his wife Deb of Mansfield, MA. He is also survived by his numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Carl's Life will be held on Saturday, November 4th from 1 to 4 P.M. at the JBI Helicopter Services Facility at 720 Clough Mill Road in Pembroke.
