Obituary

CHICHESTER - Brian Charles Cavanaugh, of Chichester, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 from COPD. He was born on February 5, 1947 in Waltham, MA, the son of the late Norman and Gertrude (Murphy) Cavanaugh. He grew up and was schooled in Waltham, MA before moving to Chichester, NH in 1978. When his boys were younger, he sponsored the Chichester Babe Ruth and enjoyed coaching the team. He owned and operated Big Ed's Auto Parts for many years and also worked Construction before working for the State of New Hampshire at the Manchester Armory for the next twenty years until his retirement. In his retirement he enjoyed working on pocket watches and became an avid computer user. The computer helped him keep in touch with his family and watch friends. He also enjoyed playing many games on the computer and his iPad. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Norman and Wayne Cavanaugh and a cousin, Charles Finnegan. He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Jane (DeCoste) Cavanaugh of Chichester; his sons, Robert Cavanaugh and his wife Jennifer (Gelinas) and Francis Cavanaugh and his wife Darlene (Hall); his grandchildren, Adrienne and her husband Huso Zukic, Brooke and her fiance Giovany Rivera, Amanda Newton and her husband Russell, Andrew, Patrick and Steven Cavanaugh; his great grandchildren, Zayd, Safia, Julian, Harper and Raegan. He also leaves a cousin, Richard Finnegan and his wife Georgia (Chambers). At the request of the family, services will be private. The Roan Family Funeral Home in Pembroke is assisting the family with arrangements.
